Botanists say that the plant is phototropic, that is, it turns toward the light.

Plants should. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t be able to live. They would have no food. Leaves produce food, in the form of sugar, for the whole plant. This they do through a special green substance called chlorophyll. Chlorophyll can perform its task only in the presence of light.

This is a clear lesson to human beings. To live spiritually, every human being must turn to the Light, God. It is from Him we can get everything we need for spiritual survival in the world under the control of the Prince of Darkness.

When many sense their spiritual needs, they turn to occultism and other agents of darkness for help. By so doing, they not only increase their physical problem, they put themselves in spiritual bondages.

The plant is wiser than to turn to the darkness for its survival. It turns toward the sunlight.

The Lord Jesus says, ‘Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.’ Mat. 11:28.

Anybody who fails to respond positively to this loving invitation is in the darkness of the world. He is like a plant in the darkness and not in the light that is essential to its survival.

John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

It is from Jesus that you can get the grace and help you need for your victory and spiritual survival. In Him is life (John 1:4). Anybody who is not in Him is without this eternal life that enables a person to live for all eternity with God in heaven.
