LOVE Part Four
MANIFESTATIONS OF LOVE Love is manifested by serving one another Gal.5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. A person will not hesitate to help in every possible way those he really loves. A Christian who doesn’t love serving others, but desires to be served by others, betrays the fact that he is not walking in love. Jesus was ready to wash the feet of His disciples because He was filled with love, and with the humility that goes with it (John 13:5). Love is manifested by bearing one another’s burden Gal. 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Love enables one to do all in one’s power to lighten the burden of one’s fellow. If you really love someone, you don’t try to avoid him when he has a heavy burden laid upon him. You help him for all you are worth to relieve him of his heavy load (Rom.15:1-3). Love is manifested by being kind to others Eph. 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Christian love is kind, merciful, helpful and tender-hearted. A person has no love who can’t give to the needy, who can’t console the sorrowful, who can’t pray for those who are in need of prayer and who can’t do all in his power to relieve others of their heavy burden. Love is manifested by helping the needy 1John 3:17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? The God-kind of love is willing to help people in need. It is not stingy, tight-fisted and indifferent to the needs of others. A loving child of God is benevolent, compassionate and caring. Jesus was so filled with love that He went about doing good (Acts 10:38). Love is manifested by forgiving others Eph. 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Col. 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Genuine love forgives. Christians who abide in love don’t keep records of wrong things done against them (1 Cor 13:5).
